Cannes 2010: A Trailer For Hideo Nakata's CHATROOM
When jaded teens Jim, Eva, Emily, and Mo meet William online, they're seduced by his charisma. But William isn't what he seems. He's calculating and manipulative and doesn't have time for people in the real world. Jim is vulnerable and has no idea how dangerous his new friendship with William will be. When Jim confesses he's on anti-depressants, William knows he's found a victim. He vows to help Jim get off his drugs, and the rest of the group fall in line.
About to make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, Kick-Ass' Aaron Johnson continues his ridiculous year bouncing from being John Lennon (Nowhere Boy) to superhero stardom and now on to the biggest film festival in the world. The film is Ringu director Hideo Nakata's screen adaptation of Enda Walsh's play.

Honestly I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The stage origins are obvious and the editing on the trailer feels clumsy but at the same time the cast - which also includes Imogen Poots (Centurion) looks quite strong. Clumsy trailer for a good movie? Or is Nakata still looking to regain his early form?

Poster is... meh. The trailer, style, and performances were intriguing, though. 9, 2010 9:17 AM

Am I the only person who thought the performances look pretty poor? It might just be all the ultra posh accents - they always sound fake to me. Then again I'm a northerner...

Hey I think its not good to judge a film by the trailer. Its probably been cut together very fast because of Cannes. Hideo is a very serious director and I have heard this film is EXTREMELY DARK. Watch the film before people start reviewing a film from a trailer!!!

This trailer looks badass! Not sure why peeps think it looks a bit lame anyways I am def gonna check it out.... I agree with Jack's comment you can't quite tell a film from the trailer can you??

No you cannot.
But a trailer is an advertisement for the movie, and as such is supposed to make the film look as good or BETTER than it is, not worse...
