Sundance 2010: ZOMBIELAND's Jesse Eisenberg Turns Hasidic Drug Mule in HOLY ROLLERS
As I begin to dig through the list of titles for Sundance to 2010, one of the first that jumps out is Kevin Tyler Asch's Holy Rollers.  A crime drama revolving around a Brooklyn Hasidic Jew recruited to smuggle ecstacy, I can't imagine anything more different for star Jesse Eisenberg after his stint in Zombieland.

HOLY ROLLERS follows the journey of a young Hasidic man from an Orthodox Brooklyn community who gets lured into the world of international ecstasy trafficking.  This original script is inspired by actual events in the 1990's when Hasidim were recruited as mules to smuggle drugs from Europe into the United States.  Sam struggles to choose between his strong religious background and the seductive pull of the outside world.
