Fresh Images From Sylvain Chomet's THE ILLUSIONIST
In the world of international animation it is hard to think of anyone whose reputation has grown larger with a single project than Sylvain Chomet's.  Chomet burst on to the international scene in 2003 with The Triplets of Belleville - or Belleville Rendez Vous, if you prefer - his debut feature, a film which one him instant and much deserved fame around the globe.  Not only was Chomet a very deliberate throwback in technique and style but he was just flat out brilliant and completely and utterly unique.  And ever since Triplets fans of animation all around the globe have been waiting for Chomet's next feature, The Illusionist

No, there is no trailer for this one yet.  And no, there isn't even a release date that I'm aware of.  But the film - from a story by legendary performer Jacques Tati - is back in the headlines here thanks to artistic director Evgeni Tomov who recently posted a series of images from the picture on his website.  Absolutely beautiful.
