What would you rather choose?

1) Playing a hero of the people, sacrificing your life to bring justice amidst the rampant corruption of the mid Joseon era, and meeting a glorious demise at the hand of some spurious forces of evil. Or...

2) Escaping from the ancient painting you were trapped in, and finding yourself in the Korea of 2009, with all the benefits that come with it: jumping on moving cars, plenty of variety in the booze and female companion department and whatnot. And maybe you're not even croaking, how about that?

Jeon Woo-Chi, the protagonist of Choi Dong-Hoon's latest superhero retelling of the old folktale, seems to have chosen the second option, but he finds himself contending with the same pack of curious goblins who made his life a living hell five centuries back. So the only answer is, I guess, kicking ass? Or something to that extent. After making it big with his two first features, the crime caper 범죄의 재구성 (The Big Swindle) and particularly 타짜 (Tazza: The High Rollers), Choi is going for a much more ambitious project this time, one which is much riskier (there will be a lot of action, yes, but also plenty of comedy, and Choi's past films were a tad too slick to worry about comic timing) but is also likely to make an even bigger impact at the box office, considering the amazing cast. Wire action and some of the CG work still look a bit iffy, but it looks like metric tons of fun nonetheless. Release is set for late December.
