I have high hopes for the commentary track.

The pacing in this movie really sets up the finale. It's almost intentionally boring for the 1st hour, making the ending that more shocking.

Here is hoping for a non-spoiler Cover and packaging. I tend to lend out my copy in a white envelope so that people don't 'know what they are in for' - maximizes the impact of the film. I'd love to see a criterion designed cover and what it would entail for AUDITION.

And add non-spoiler menu screens to that!

The only problem I had with the UK disc of [REC] was how it wanted to startle you with shock shots whenever you did any navigation... thereby taking away from seeing these for the first time in the movie itself.

I'm with you guys on the packaging. I haven't seen it yet and I already know too much. And I remember laughing at the bit about the semen on the Ichi commentary.

The cover is already on the net, and it looks like your wish for a non-spoiler is wasted:

lol yes miike also loves to portray tsukamoto as far more twisted and deranged than he is. these guys know their image upkeep. i hope but don't think ishibashi will get a role to top this!

Damn what a wasted cover image. I wish Criterion was doing this thing. Audition calls for a classy, ambiguous and simple cover. Not the standard Eihi Shiina with a needle. Dang. My current AFI or whatever DVD is good enough I guess.
