More Bloody Stills From Indonesian Horror MACABRE

[Updated with six more stills and two fresh poster designs! Looking goooood.]

Not a big believer in Indonesian horror? Well, on the whole that's a sign you've got good taste because the huge majority of horror pictures produced there (and there are a lot of them) are cranked out fast and cheap and, frankly, aren't worth the celluloid they're printed on assuming they were lucky enough to be shot on film in the first place. But good news! Jakarta based directing tandem The Mo Brothers aren't believers in Indonesian horror either and they're doing something about it. In their own words the Brothers are "intense adorers of the American Genre classics from PSYCHO to the ORIGINAL TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, the MO brothers' current quest is to crash-marry the sleekness of East-Asian Horror movement with the chutzpah of the American Horror wave."

The first big result of that attempt to fuse east and west was the stunning short film Dara, which Brian Yuzna's Komodo Films included as the final chapter in their Takut anthology film and which Toronto audiences will soon get the chance to see on the big screen as part of an as-yet unannounced film program. And after the success of Dara the Mo Brothers have gone on to create a feature length expansion, Macabre.

Macabre tells the tale of the most horrifying night for 6 friends. Two newly weds Adjie and Astrid, along with 3 of their best friends decided to have an interstate road trip as a last attempt to reconcile Adjie with his estranged little sister Ladya.

Their drive is however being cut abruptly when they run into Maya, a strange out of nowhere girl who wanders aimlessly into their path. "I've been robbed" is all she has to say, the friends unanimously decided to give her a ride to her isolated house by the end of the woods.

Maya introduces Adjie and friends to her courteous blue-blooded mother; Dara, a woman of ageless enigma, and few spoken words. Dara insisted that their Samaritan act should be repaid with a feastly dinner.

This is where the night turns into a crimson-hell for the 6 friends; finding themselves trapped and hunted by Dara and her cult-like family of three deadly protégés, born and raised to systematically eliminate unsuspecting passerby for one nefarious reason.

One by one slaughtered, everybody will bleed, the darkest of night never looked so red.

We ran a series of teaser posters for this one a little while back and now we've got a block of five stills. Hit the link below for those and check the trailer for Dara below the break!
