Promo for Shim Hyung-rae's CG Animated film MEMORY OF BREAD

Despite the poor critical responses to Shim Hyung-rae's sci-fi blockbuster film D-War when it was release in 2007, I still gotta hand it to him for risking his neck financially and going forward on a major undertaking. It turns out Shim's endeavor payed off in the end as it was a big hit in Korea, thus paving the way for a sequel. However, it was put on hold in favor of Shim getting back to his comedic roots with his directing-starring vehicle The Last Godfather, an unofficial sequel to the Godfather series. The action comedy will bring Marlon Brando back to life with the wonders of CG and apparently, Shim will play his long lost son as Young-gu, a recurring character he's best known for portraying in a series of comedies back in the 80's and 90's. Next in the pipeline is Memory of Bread (추억의 붕어빵), a CG animated film done in house by his Younggu-Art company. Its a coming-of-age story set in the 60's and from what I can tell in the promo, it appears to be a serious drama but who knows for sure on whats instore coming from the director who presented us a film about dragons blowing things up in modern day city of LA.

The animated film is due out in 2010. Check out the promo reel below after the break.
