First Teaser For Jeffrey Lau's KUNG FU CYBORG

Teaser? It's more like a taunt. When Hong Kong director Jeffrey Lau - best known for his work on Stephen Chow's Chinese Odyssey films - first announced his Kung Fu Cyborg project he was refreshingly honest about his motivations: Why, when Asians are so fond of giant robots, should Michael Bay get to have all the fun? And so, after watching America get on board the Transformers train Lau decided he need to create a Hong Kong answer, a Transformers to call their own, with a distinctly Chinese spin. The result is Kung Fu Cyborg, a martial arts oriented giant robot film starring SPL and Fatal Contact star Wu Jing.

We've been waiting for a teaser or trailer for the picture since it was first announced and the first teaser has arrived but, honestly, if you look at that image to the left, you've pretty much seen the teaser. As befits the origins of the film, Lau has essentially just cribbed the first Transformers promo with a series of mechanical parts assembling themselves into the film logo. Check it below the break!
