The story caused a sensation in Belgium and has now been made into a feature film titled SM Rechter or Tied Together in English.

In 1997, the Belgian public opinion was in shock when Judge Erik A. was sentenced for the S&M relationship with his wife. The verdict and the media uproar was the end of his professional career and the good relationship with their daughter. Although their professional and personal life was destroyed, Erik and his wife Magda remain together today. This film is a story about dark sexuality and true love, told from the lovers unique point of view.
