Good news here for fans of Ti West, director of The Roost and Triggerman. After a brief foray into studio-land to shoot a DTV sequel to Eli Roth's Cabin Fever West has returned to his own original work with The House of the Devil.
In the 1980s, college student Samantha Hughes takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret; they plan to use her in a satanic ritual.
Starring: Jocelin Donahue (THE BURROWERS), Greta Gerwig (BAGHEAD), Dee Wallace (ET, HALLOWEEN 2007),Tom Noonan (MANHUNTER) Mary Woronov (ROCK 'N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL, EATING RAOUL), A.J. Bowen (THE SIGNAL)
Already in post-production, a promo for this will debut at the upcoming AFM and you can be sure I'm trying to get hold of a little something to show you here on ScreenAnarchy. The really intriguing bit about this one - beyond the fact that it's West working from his own script and drawing on 1980s influences, which is where he seems best suited - comes in the production credits. Larry Fessenden and Peter Phok from Glass Eye Pix are on board again but also signed up as producers are Roger Kass and Josh Braun who did a little film you may have heard of called A History of Violence. Nice. I should also note that the included artwork - which I think is solid, iconic stuff and should be kept - is strictly a temp poster prepared for AFM and my not represent the final version whatsoever.
