It looked like the city of Boston and the Red Sox weren't the only ones celebrating their World Series win last night. According to reports Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon were in attendance and on the field refilming the ending to their latest production Fever Pitch.

Plot Outline: based on the Nick Hornby novel and movie "Fever Pitch" (1997) starring Colin Firth. Film has been updated to center of a guy and his obsession with the Boston Red Sox. Ben meets Lindsey. They fall in love. All things are wonderful. But their future together is threatened once the baseball season comes around and Lindsey discovers something about Ben...his obsession with the Boston Red Sox.

"Fever" director Peter Farrelly worked the phones all day to get a camera crew as well as Drew and her co-star Jimmy Fallon to the Gateway City.

"We've got them celebrating on the field," he said. "It's the end of the movie. And what an ending it was. This is like the aliens made contact. It's something we've thought about for a long time, but never thought was possible."

As stated before Fever Pitch is based on the novel of the same name by author Nick Hornby. If it takes a while for that name to ring any bells how about High Fidelity and About a Boy. Same guy. So you know the source material has to be tip top.

Fever Pitch, the book, is about a man's life long obsession with his favorite team Arsenal. I'm not a huge Arsenal fan. My devotion is to West Ham who will someday make it back into Premier. But I still haven't disproved my grandfather's claims that his grandfather or someone in the family played for Arsenal way back in the day. So in my mind that means I can cheer for them and I can read Fever Pitch and really like it. Which I have. And I can read other Nick Hornby books and like them too. Which I have. And I can shake my head when I see something like this come along because I think Nick deserves better. And given Jimmy Fallon's rocky start to motion pictures in Taxi I wouldn't say that he is dead in the water but he better pull his socks up quick before Hollywood moves on and finds someone else.
